essay post production

Post production essay

Over the two years in media studies i have developed many skills relating to the post production of my work. This mainly included editing and after effects such as adding titles and filters to the video. 
When editing in year 12 I only knew the very basic skills towards the editing on premiere, looking back i also found it quite difficult, even the first lesson on importing footage to the programme i found it tricky, however now i have developed so much i have now contributed to the editing of the music video which has involved adding filters, adjusting colour and adding text to the video. The main task in year 12 (film opening) we simply added the footage then added cuts, now i have added many more shots and cuts which has shown a much more professional look to the video. 

Our film opening consisted of just one long cut which is hugely different to our A2 video which uses over 70 cuts, this shows the amount of detail we went in to compared to the year 12 work. Using this bigger amount of cuts meant we had to choose footage more carefully as when we chose footage for the film opening we only had a couple of videos to choose from but when choosing the best from A2 was harder as we filmed everything many times to ensure we had the best. 



Editing the music video involved alot of filters and adjusting colour brightness and contrast. We didnt add anything for AS whereas for A2 we added effects to most shots.
